When setting up your hammock, it is important to find a suitable location. Look for sturdy trees that can support your weight, avoiding saplings or dead trees that may break under pressure. The ideal distance between trees for a good setup is between 10 and 16 feet, with the hammock hanging about a foot and a half above the ground. It is recommended not to hang the hammock higher than you are willing to fall, aiming for a height between 18 and 36 inches. When suspended at a 30-degree angle, the hammock will have a deep sag and a lower center of gravity, making it easier to get in and out of, as well as more comfortable for sleeping.

For a comfortable sleep in your hammock, remember to keep it loose and allow some slack. Sleeping diagonally will also enhance your comfort while using the hammock.
